If you are unsure of what mindfulness is and how could it help your organisation, ,why not let us introduce the benefits to you?
Mindfulness can help you and your team by bringing awareness to self-regulation, protect against stress and enhance effective decision-making capabilities. Mindfulness is the art of cultivating the ability to be in control of your mind instead of your mind being in control of you. Supported by scientific research, mindfulness has been successfully implemented into businesses across the globe.
Mindfulness is a state in which you are highly aware and focused on the reality of the present moment, accepting and acknowledging it, without getting caught up in thoughts or emotional reactions to the situation.
Research conducted over the last 40 years demonstrates the benefits that can be gained from mindfulness training. Mindfulness practice reduces the risk of burnout, increasing resilience and overall well-being. It also has a beneficial impact on the brain, decreasing grey matter in the amygdala (the brains fear centre) and increasing grey matter in areas including the hippocampus (responsible for learning and memory) and pre-frontal cortex (responsible for executive functioning). In recent years research has demonstrated how mindfulness can improve many aspects of workplace productivity, improve working relationships and improve health and well-being.
Mindfulness can provide business benefits including:
Mindfulness Courses and Programmes - for Employees
We can offer a range of options to introduce mindfulness to your employees, or develop a bespoke package for you.
Introductory sessions between (1.5-2 hrs) This session provides participants with an understanding of what mindfulness is (and isn’t). It provides experiential learning and an introduction to the neuroscience of mindfulness. This is often used as a preparatory course for employees to attend prior to the Working Mindfully Programme (WMP). It can also add value to leadership development programmes or team building days.
Working Mindfully Programme (WMP) This 5 week course involves five 1 hour sessions over consecutive weeks, teaching the core mindfulness meditations and principals with an emphasis on delegates learning techniques that enable them to have more physical and emotional resilience, and be more effective in the workplace and beyond.
Half Day Mindfulness Workshop (2.5 hrs) This workshop is delivered to groups. In addition to learning about the science underpinning why mindfulness works, participants get to experience mindfulness practices for themselves, allowing the experiential learning and its value for peak workplace performance. We would aim to include, where relevant, any ongoing culture change, leadership or L&D training that participants are currently undergoing, so that it feels immediately relevant and applicable to them.
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Programme (MBSR) This 8 week programme, delivered in a group setting, includes eight 2.5 hour sessions. It is research and evidence based to provide benefit to people suffering with stress, low mood, depression, chronic pain or just struggling to cope with life’s challenges. This can be offered to employees who are on long term sick, or those who have repeated episodes of absence due to stress, anxiety, low mood etc. The MBSR programme is also very popular for leaders who want to develop a deeper understanding of mindfulness and the benefits it can bring.
